Saturday, June 10, 2017 -- Shaver Lake Youth Derby

The 23rd Youth Derby fishing event will take place on June 10 at 8 am during National Fishing Week at Shaver Lake, along the Road #2 Day use area. The event is free to youngsters and their families. Games, food and fun for all.

Monday, June 12, 2017 -- River Camp Scout Island
Time: 8:30 A.M. until 4:15 P.M.
Location: San Joaquin River Parkway, 11605 Old Friant Road Fresno, CA
For over 20 years, the River Parkway Trust has been offering an exciting, fun, and safe experience for the Valley's kids at River Camp. Our lively and experienced staff of counselors, lifeguards, visiting scientists and artists engage your children in activities that enhance their understanding of and connection to the San Joaquin River. Campers will enjoy swimming in cool water, canoeing, exploring wildlife habitat, playing games, creating arts and crafts and making new friends during their week-long day-camp experience. The brand new 2017 River Camp T-Shirt is included in the registration cost.

Get the backyard basics to stargazing on this tour of the night sky. Enjoy stories and the latest astronomical news under one of California’s most brilliant skies. Bring a flashlight and a cozy blanket for this spectacular evening.

There’s nothing more thrilling than a good night hike in a national park. Listen for hooting owls, watch for dozing deer, or peer through the night sky for twinkling stars. Bring a flashlight, wear sturdy shoes, and have a sense of adventure.

CSU Summer Arts joins with the FOOSA Festival/ Fresno Summer Orchestra Academy to present a performance of some of the most famous orchestral works ever written (Mahler Six! Strauss Don Juan!). FOOSA is a two-week long classical music intensive for pre-professional musicians.
