Monday, April 03, 2017 - Hike the Crespi Trail, Morro Bay, CA

Explore the back country of Morro Bay State Park. Admire the views of the bay and Hollister Peak and a grove of oak trees along the Crespi Trail. Bring water to drink, and wear your hiking shoes. Meet at the end of the Chumash Trail on Turri Road about 1/3 mile east of South Bay Blvd. 10:am start. Moderate walk, some poison oak. 2 miles, 1.5 hours.

Thursday, April 6, 2017 -- Windy Cove Mud & Tide Pools, Morro Bay, CA

Walk to Windy Cove below the Museum learning about the plants. the mud and the organisms that inhabit the mud and rocks around the cove. Dress for the weather and war shoes that can get muddy; no bare feet. At 2:00pm, meet at the "Nature Walk" sign in front of the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History.

Friday, April 07, 2017 --Black Hill Hike, Morro Bay, CA

Hike to the summit of Black Hill from the Morro Bay campground. We will walk 1.5 miles with an elevation gain of 660 ft. to the summit. Enjoy a spectacular view from atop the hill. Bring binoculars, long pants and good shoe tread suggested. Meet at the picnic area at the Morro Bay Campground. Start time 10:00am. Active hike, chance of poison oak, 3 miles, 2-2.5 hours.

Saturday, April 08, 2017 -Black Hill Trail, Morro Bay, CA

Walk the most accessible of the volcanic sisters while discussing their history and enjoying a panoramic view. Dress for wind/weather. Take Golf Course Dr. past the clubhouse and bear left at the fork in the road. Starting time is 2:00pm. The hike is 05 miles and takes approx. 1.5 hours.

Start time 11:00 A.M. Enjoy a short talk and walk to the rookery in Morro Bay State Park to observe these magnificent birds. Learn about courtship rituals, nesting habits, and in spring, see adults caring for their young. Dress for wind/weather. Meet at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History in the Learning Center. Easy walk, 0.25 miles, 1.5 hours.
